YOU WANT TO TRAVEL, BUT WHAT’S STOPPING YOU?

I see you.

You’ve been doom-scrolling through those aesthetic travel reels till 2 AM. You’re randomly skimming Google for “budget-friendly destinations for no visa travelers”, or keeping track of Piso Fare announcements.

You dream of vacations overseas and long weekend escapes—until the overthinking sets in: “But what if I can’t afford it? How do I start with the paperwork? What if I get offloaded?”

All of these nega what-ifs. But here’s the thing: What if you’re having Vietnamese coffee while basking in Hoi An’s golden hour right now, instead of having that same vending machine brew at the corner store?

So, chill. Take a deep breath, and let’s talk about what’s actually stopping you from traveling. And maybe—just maybe—you’ll gain enough courage to finally achieve that Great Escape for 2026.

The No Budget Drama.

No, you don’t have to be nepo-baby-rich to travel. Think inexpensive but meaningful. First, capitalize on reflective itinerary planning: ask yourself, “What do I enjoy?” Spend time and money on that instead of modeling your trip on those Top 10 Viral Lists you see on social media.  Second, save for your trip intentionally. Skip that pricey coffee or milk tea you indulge in multiple times a week, and set it aside for your travel fund instead. If you keep at it long enough, you will be sipping authentic Thai milk tea in Bangkok soon enough. Do you see the logic? Discipline is key.

Visa, Immigration, Offloading Issues.

For starters, there are a lot of travel destinations that are visa-free. A little Googling on your part will show you possible choices for that long weekend escape. Paperwork? Of course it’s work hence, the need to put in the work. It will all be worth it, you’ll see. Be systematic about the process. Make a checklist. Keep a file folder and start organizing your papers early on. Offloading horror stories stressing you out? Prepare. Educate yourself about the process. Immigration zeroes in on inconsistencies, so secure yourself with extensive groundwork months before your travel date.

Solo is Scary.

Not if you’re well-organized and prepared. Less likely that it will turn out bad also if you get a reputable travel agency to help you plan. You’re new in the game and will need all the help you can get. Moreover, it’s the age of Joiner’s Tours and Guided Tours, so you don’t have to worry yourself to death about getting lost in translation or in location. Solo travel has a way of making you grow in ways you wouldn’t think you would. So, go for it!

At the end of the day, everything is “figure-outable”. It’s just a matter of intention, followed up by action. So set all that overthinking aside, and get to preparing and planning your dream vacation instead. The world awaits!
